Infusion offers accurate and unbiased
water closet design and ULFT water conservation facts
to water conservation industry
professionals who are frustrated due to:
- uncertainty
about whether major financial water
conservation program decisions are being made
based on complete, accurate, and unbiased
information
- flushing
performance problems and toilet
leakage jeopardizing the long
term effectiveness of water conservation
programs
- lack
of political or public support due to lack of
confidence in ULFT toilet
performance and the long term
effectiveness of ULFT water conservation
programs
- generally
not having a trusted source of ULFT Technical Support
If you
share any of these frustrations, whether you are a
seasoned water conservation professional or a
relative 'newbie', you are definitely not alone.
To get
you started in understanding some accurate and
unbiased background information about water
closet design and ULFT
water conservation facts, I have
provided a webpage on this site with ULF Water Conservation Articles that I have
had published in plumbing industry magazines. In
addition, I have written two condensed articles below
about Why is Water Conservation
Important?, and How to Specify the Best
Flushing Toilets?.

Why
is Water Conservation Important?
It's
hard to believe that toilet water
conservation and the inevitable toilet
troubleshooting could be so
complicated! A toilet is a toilet is a toilet! Right!
Well,
actually, toilet performance
has always been fairly complicated and unreliable
when it came to plumbing fixture water
conservation. However, no one ever used
to care too much about water
conservation!
Now
that fresh water conservation has ever increasing
global implications with respect to availability and
sustainability, as well as the ever increasing
monetary implications, people do care exactly how
much water it takes to flush a toilet, or how much a
toilet leaks... a lot of people.
Some
people care because their water bill just went up.
Other people care because their water supply is very
limited. Others care even though their water supply
is plentiful, because they want to postpone as long as possible
the exorbidant cost of upgrading their water
filtration and treatment facilities while still
having enough capacity to allow the growth of their
communities. Still others care about the global
ecological impact on the world and its population.
And all of them care about the significant amount of
money that can be saved through conserving water!
Toilets
have not gotten any less complicated. In fact, since
it was determined that toilets were a prime water
conservation candidate accounting for 30% to 40% of
indoor residential water usage, the drive has been on
to push ULFT toilet flushing technologies
to their limits. And believe it or not, there really
wasn't that much thought put into flushing
technologies before the push for ULFT's (i.e. if the
toilet's flushing performance wasn't high enough, the
sanitaryware manufacturers just put on a bigger
tank!).
The
sanitaryware manufacturers have indeed made great
strides in their knowledge of ULFT toilet
flushing systems, which has lead to
generally increased industry toilet
performance. However, there isn't a
level playing field of ULFT toilet
flushing systems expertise between
sanitaryware manufacturers, or even the toilet
performance between their different ULFT
toilet models. This complex field is
further muddied by the fact that sanitaryware
manufacturing processes are relatively inconsistent
and unfortunately these inconsistencies can greatly
influence the flushing performance of the production ULFT
toilets.
You
also need to consider the validity of the toilet
performance plumbing standards to which
these ULFT toilets are
being certified, and consider who has had the
greatest influence in establishing these flushing
performance level requirements.
The
good news is that ULFT toilets
and urinals CAN function as well as, or better than,
their conventional counterparts.
How
to Specify the Best Flushing Toilets?
To
maximize the effectiveness of your water conservation
program over the short and long terms, you need to
start by specifying the best flushing
toilets for your particular
installation parameters.
Then
you need to ensure that these best
flushing toilets achieve their maximum
toilet performance and minimum
toilet leakage over the short and long
terms by ensuring that they are installed and
maintained properly.
In
order to find the best flushing toilets,
you need to base your decisions on accurate
and unbiased ULF
water closet design, ULFT
toilet performance engineering, plumbing
standards, and water
conservation facts.
Since
5D Infusion has highly specialized expertise in all
of these fields, and is in an unbiased
position outside of the plumbing fixture
manufacturing industry, 5D Infusion is
confident that we are your best resource
to assist in maximizing the effectiveness of your
water conservation program over the short and long
terms.
